The Marie Keating Foundation was delighted to receive a €40,000 grant from Deloitte ahead of Christmas 2020, to help increase the impact of our work in 2021 in two key areas; our Schools Cancer Awareness Programme and our work with underserved communities, specifically with Syrian refugees and Traveller groups. The Foundation’s mission is to ‘make cancer less frightening by enlightening’ and our core focus is to provide free education to those most in need on how to reduce cancer risk and improve early detection. This mission aligns strongly with Deloitte’s WorldClass ambition to “improve educational outcomes and create opportunities for those who otherwise may be left behind.” This grant will have a huge impact on the Foundation’s ability to reach those most in need while also improving young people’s awareness and understanding of how they can reduce their future cancer risk and of the early signs and symptoms of Ireland’s most common cancers.
