THEYA Healthcare and the Marie Keating Foundation celebrate International Women’s Day with a Positive Living with Cancer Event

On Tuesday March 8th, award winning Irish start up, THEYA Healthcare, celebrated International Women’s Day through a morning event with a panel discussion on Positive Living with Cancer. The event took place in the stunning surrounds of Residence Members Club, St Stephens Green and was in support of The Marie Keating Foundation.

Specialising in the design and manufacture of post operative lingerie suitable for all women who have had breast cancer surgery, cosmetic surgery and/or undergoing radiotherapy treatment, THEYA Healthcare welcomed a host of specially invited guests from Irish healthcare, media, speciality stockists as well as cancer survivors to participate in a panel discussion MC’ed by THEYA Healthcare CEO, Ciara Donlon.

Panelists included Marie Keating CEO and breast cancer survivor, Liz Yeates; a ‘previvor,’ Roisin Prizeman who had a double mastectomy before developing breast cancer after learning she had a faulty BRCA1 gene; Breast surgeon, Dr. Reem Salman and renowned nutritionist, Emma Buckley. Each speaker shared stories of how breast cancer had touched their lives and offered advice around positive living through support networks, aftercare and nutrition.

The private event also served to mark THEYA Healthcare’s first anniversary of trading as well as showcase their new white Recovery Range – a bamboo mix, wire and seam free line that reduces irritation to any dressing or wounds and is available with different levels in either a front adjustable or back fastening bra.

Guests enjoyed a healthy breakfast of juices, herbal teas and fruit and were treated to a gift bag upon departure complete with products such as Vita Coco, Propercorn, Nuxe, Viviscal, Burts Bees and Semi Di Lino haircare as well as a voucher for THEYA Healthcare to be redeemed by the recipient or a loved one.

Commenting at the event, CEO Ciara Donlon said, “This has been such an inspiring event and the perfect way to mark our first birthday. THEYA Healthcare works so closely with healthcare professionals and customers and this is our way of giving back, of thanking them for their feedback and insight. We are also grateful to Residence and the Marie Keating Foundation for their ongoing support.”

The release of the new line coincides with the brands first anniversary of trading following an incredibly successful year. In the past 12 months, THEYA Healthcare has expanded their distribution beyond Ireland to Europe and Canada with plans to launch on House of Fraser online this month. Their products are now classified as class 1 medical devices and they are the winners of the Emerging New Business category in the SFA National Small Business 2016 Awards.
