The Marie Keating Foundation is recruiting a Finance & Administration Officer for maternity leave cover.

The Marie Keating Foundation is a registered charity working to increase awareness and reduce the risks of cancer within all sectors of the community. We promote early detection and the importance of a healthy lifestyle in eliminating cancer as a life threatening illness. We provide practical support services for those affected by cancer and we work with other organisations to optimise efforts to reduce the risk. Our ethos is “making cancer less frightening by enlightening”.

We are now seeking a Finance & Administration Officer to work with the Foundation’s team at our office in Lucan, Co Dublin as a maternity cover position from mid June 2015 to 29th January 2016.

This is a varied and interesting role and will be ideal for someone looking to further develop their career in finance and operations within the voluntary sector.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working as part of a small team, the role of the Finance & Administration Officer is to manage the accounts and finances for the Foundation. The role is pivotal in ensuring the Foundation meets its statutory requirements in terms of financial reporting and transparency.

Ideally, we are looking for a person who already has a qualification in finance and or accounting and has a number of years experience in the area of finance and operations. In addition, the candidate should understand the challenges of the voluntary sector and be happy working as part of a small and tight team.

Interviews for the position will take place the week of April 6th with a view to appointment made by April 10th. The appointed person should be in a position to start by 15th June 2015 for a 7 month contract.

Main Duties:

Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts, Cashflows & Forecasts.
Monthly Bank, Debtor and Creditor Reconciliations.
Monthly Payroll and PAYE/PRSI Returns.
Liaison with External Auditors.
Prepare year end financial and cashflow statements
Record all income and receipts on CRM system and export to Sage for reporting.
Receipting all donations and recording these on Raiser’s Edge
Record all expenditure and payments on Sage.
Record all Coin Box Income and produce monthly reports.
Keep MKF merchandise stock records up to date and do quarterly stock takes.
Liaise with external ICT company in relation to IT issues.
Assisting with IT infrastructure upgrade project
Provide input to new CRM system project implementation
HR duties – managing Annual Leave and Contracts
Look after any office maintenance and ordering of stationery as required.

The person appointed should have the following experience and skills:
• A relevant qualification in Finance or Accounting or equivalent.
• Direct experience working with a CRM system (such as Raiser’s Edge)
• Direct experience of SAGE
• Efficiency in all MS Office 365 applications
• Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to juggle a range of tasks at any one time
• Excellent inter-team working skills and a “can-do” attitude
• Initiative and ability to work as part of a small team
• Genuine interest in working within the voluntary sector.

The person appointed will be provided with an opportunity to work for a national cancer charity working in the area of cancer prevention, health promotion and support services. “Hands on” training will be provided by the current Finance & Administration officer

Salary Level: €3,498 gross per month
