Become a corporate partner
One in three Irish people are affected by cancer. That means that your employees and customers are likely sadly affected by this disease. By becoming a corporate partner of the Marie Keating Foundation, you can show your stakeholders that you are a company that cares about fighting cancer.
Show your customers, staff and the general public that your company cares and that you are a socially responsible organisation. There are numerous ways to get involved.
Making a difference
As a company, you can fund a specific campaign in an area that will be meaningful to your staff and customers. You can choose to make a one-off charitable donation or provide funding over a number of years.
When you give over a number of years, we can plan ahead, helping us achieve sustainable and effective change where we work.
We, of course, also gratefully accept once-off denotations and are happy to talk to you about our up-coming campaigns that might fit well with your strategic objectives and values.
Depending on your company’s objectives, the Marie Keating Foundation can identify potential sponsorship opportunities, aligning our work with your work. Companies we collaborate with include, for example, Marks & Spencer, Glenisk, and Harvey Norman. If you would like to read about some of these corporate partnerships, please click here .
Supporting a charity by corporate donation is treated as a business expense. As such, tax can be claimed back.
If you would like to make a straightforward corporate donation online you can click here. Alternatively, you can talk to our Director of Fundraising, Linda Keating, about our future plans. You can contact Linda by emailing Lkeating@mariekeating.ie or by calling (01) 628 3726.
Corporate charity work
Companies can get involved in many ways, including:
Sponsoring a campaign
The Marie Keating Foundation runs campaigns throughout the year. We need the support of corporate sponsors in order to make these campaigns a reality. These include:
- Skin cancer awareness campaign- Summer months
- Breast cancer awareness month- October
- Men’s health month- November
- Cervical cancer month- January
- Your Health, Your Choice- health promotion campaign- all year round
Sharing your company’s expertise
Does your company have skills or expertise that could help the Marie Keating Foundation? Could you donate some of your team’s time and knowledge and join the fight against cancer?
If so, please contact Caitriona Hennessy at email@example.com or call (01) 628 3726.
Employees can also get involved:
Employee fundraising is a great way to motivate staff and foster team spirit. It will also raise money for people affected by cancer.
You can get involved in the fight against cancer by donating to the Marie Keating Foundation from your salary. It’s a simple and effective way to donate as you earn.
Payroll giving is an easy way for employees to donate to the Marie Keating Foundation on a regular basis through payroll deductions. Giving in this way reduces administration overheads for the Foundation, which means that we have more funds to spend on our vital cancer services.
You can choose how much to give from your salary each month and, together with your colleagues, you can make a massive difference in the fight against cancer. For example, if you donate €20 a month from your salary, that will help pay for an expert nurse to visit a school to educate 30 young people on cancer prevention so that they can stay fit and well, and learn how they can cope if someone close to them is diagnosed with cancer. Now, imagine if everyone in your company also gave the same amount! The difference you and your colleagues could make is incredible.
If you are an employer, show your employees that you care about your staff and the wider community by offering payroll giving.
If you are an employee, ask your employer if they will adopt a payroll giving policy and help the Marie Keating Foundation in its fight against cancer. It’s quick and easy to set up and all modern payroll systems can handle payroll giving.
If you think you and your colleagues might be interested in payroll giving, contact Fiona at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (01) 628 3726. We can also arrange for one of our expert nurses and our mobile information units to come and visit you and your colleagues so you can learn more about our mission as well as cancer awareness and prevention.
Donations and tax
If you are kind enough to donate more than €250 a year (or €21 a month) through your payroll, your donations can have a double impact. Whether you are a self assessed or PAYE tax payer, the Marie Keating Foundation can claim the tax back on your donations – all you have to do is complete a form allowing us to do so. This increases the value of your donation by 23% without costing you anything extra. Click here to download the form from Revenue.ie. You can email your completed form to Fiona at email@example.com or post it to her at Fiona Sullivan, Marie Keating Foundation, Unit 9, Millbank Business Park, Lucan, Co Dublin.
If you wish to find out more about payroll giving or any other kind of fundraising, please contact Fiona at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (01) 628 3726.
