Some tips for hosting a great Girls Night In

Hosting a great Girls Night In can be lots of fun with some simple planning and a little help from your friends! Here are some of our top tips for a great night:

Get the date in early– While Breast Cancer Awareness Month is in October, you can host your Girls Night In at any time for all women’s cancer. Let your friends and family know when you are hosting your event and give them lots of advance notice. Consider creating a facebook event, as this can be an easy way to get the word out.

Set up an online fundraising page– Use an online fundraising page like JustGiving or My Charity as this is a really easy way to fundraise and ask people for donations. We have some advice on setting up a JustGiving page here. It’s free and easy.

Try a theme- If you’re stuck for ideas, why not try a theme? Have an afternoon tea or a Lovely Ladies movie night with movies like Pretty Woman, Breakfast at Tiffanies, Mama Mia and Legally Blonde. You could hold a pink manicure night or a Party In Pink Zumba or Bokwa night in a local gym or community hall.

Wear it Pink- Encourage all your guests or colleagues to wear pink for the day- everyone that wears pink can be asked to donate €2 to the Marie Keating Foundation. Have a best dressed or most creative competition and ask a local business to donate a prize.

Ask for help Ask local businesses to support you by donating prizes for a raffle. If you tell them why you are fundraising, you might be surprised by how supportive they are. You can also ask friends and family to help you organise your event by bringing some food or helping you to get your place ready.

Say thanks after your fundraiser, don’t forget to say ‘thank you’ to all involved and let them know how much you have raised. If you take pictures at the event, add them to your facebook page and tag the Marie Keating Foundation in it too so we can say ‘thanks’ as well!

Collect and bank your funds You can send the amazing amount that you have fundraised to the Marie Keating Foundation through a variety of ways:
