Local TD and Minister for Justice and Equality Frances Fitzgerald is inviting men, women and children to take part in the Lucan Pink Walk in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation in Griffeen Valley Park at 11am on Saturday, 22 October 2016. Registration costs €10 per person and €20 for a family. You can register for the Lucan Pink Walk below or on the morning of the event at the Lucan Sports and Leisure Centre. Refreshments will be served after the walk and a Marie Keating Foundation nurse and mobile information unit will be on hand to give free advice on cancer prevention and early detection.

Speaking at the launch of the Lucan Pink Walk, Minister Fitzgerald said, “This is a perfect event for people of all ages and levels of fitness and should be great fun for all the family. Most importantly, we will be raising funds for the Marie Keating Foundation and their breast cancer services and programmes. I have been a consistent advocate and campaigner on matters relating to breast cancer. I have worked for improved awareness and education services which are critical in supporting early detection. Around 2,900 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and almost all of us know someone who has fought this disease so this is a good way to show our support and help make a difference during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
